    We fully respect all the experience that comes to work with us at Flow. We love learning the lessons of others and experimenting with new ideas. Research and Development is an ongoing rhythm at Flow Kayaks and in our new facility we have space to dedicate to it. We also respect that humans are just that and are more than happy to have discussions around working in with your lifestyle where it may have proved difficult in the past.

    Full time / part time we’re open to ideas. Just don’t try and sell us your children.

  • A Keen Bean Apprentice

    We love our apprentices and Flow will provide a thick and fast learning environment. Boredom isn’t an option with all the different componentry, techniques and products that we produce.

    We currently have an apprentice studying Level 4 Composites from scratch and learning fast almost instantly becoming a highly valued member of the team.

    If you’re keen to learn and grow a career with a positive attitude, punctuality and drive to grow then you’ll fit right in.

    At Flow we do value experience from all walks of life. Closer to composites the better but skills can be taught and tasks are quick to teach.

Job Description: Flow Composites is seeking an experienced and skilled Composites Technician to join our team in the role of Lead Technician. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will play a crucial role in the production of high-quality composite products while also serving as a mentor and educator to our junior staff. This is a hands on role to help us keep a high level of productivity and output at this exciting stage in the development of the business.

Key Responsibilities: Technical Expertise: Demonstrate proficiency in composite manufacturing techniques, with particular expertise in Pre-preg and infusion processes. Utilize your in-depth knowledge to produce top-quality composite parts and products. Leadership and Mentorship: Lead by example and provide guidance to junior technicians, assisting them in developing their skills and knowledge in composite manufacturing. Serve as a mentor to foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team.

Training and Development: Assist to develop and deliver training programs for new and existing staff, focusing on best practices, safety protocols, and the latest advancements in composite technology. Ensure that all team members are equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in their roles.

Quality Assurance: Assist to implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure that all products meet our rigorous standards for excellence. Conduct thorough inspections and troubleshooting to identify and address any issues that may arise during the manufacturing process.

Collaboration: Work closely with other members of the manufacturing team to optimize processes, streamline production workflows, and innovate new composite solutions.

Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and regulatory requirements governing composite manufacturing processes. Maintain a clean and organized work environment to minimize risks and ensure the safety of yourself and your colleagues.

Experience: Proven experience in composite manufacturing, with a focus on carbon fibre applications. Expertise in Pre-preg and infusion processes is highly desirable. Mould development and maintenance. Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and motivate a team of technicians. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively train and educate others. Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Knowledge of safety protocols and regulatory requirements related to composite manufacturing.
